Telangana adds 5% membership in February’s EPFO salary data

Hyderabad: According to the Department of Labor and Employment, Telangana is more than 5% of the total net salary in eight states and trade union territory (UTS) in February 2025.
The Employee Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has released temporary wage data for February 2025, showing a net increase of 16.1 million members. Annual analysis shows that net salary increased by 3.99% compared to February 2024, meaning increased employment opportunities and increased awareness of employee benefits, and EPFO’s effective outreach program is supported.
EPFO recruited approximately 739,000 new subscribers in February 2025. This increase in new subscribers may be attributed to increased employment opportunities, increased awareness of employee benefits, and successful promotional programs for EPFOs.
State-level analysis of salary data said the top five and UTS accounted for about 59.75% of net salary, adding about 962,000 net salary during the month. Among all states, Maharashtra increased its net salary by 20.90% in the month.
The ministry added that Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Gujarat, Haryana, Delhi, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh respectively increased by more than 5% of the total net salary this month.
It further points out that one obvious aspect of the data is the dominance of the 18- and 25-year-old age groups. As many as 420,000 new subscribers were added in the 18-25-year-old age group, accounting for a significant 57.71% of new subscribers added in February 2025.
This coincides with the early trends, suggesting that most people joining the organized workforce are youth, mainly first-time job seekers. In addition, the net salary increase for the 18-25-year-old age group in February 2025 was approximately 678,000, reflecting the 3.01% increase in the previous year in February 2024.
Approximately 13.18 lakh members, who had exited earlier, rejoined EPFO in February 2025. This figure describes a significant 11.85 per cent year-over-year growth compared to February 2024. These members switched their jobs and re-joined the establishments covered under the ambit of EPFO and opted to transfer their accumulations instead of applying for final settlement thus safeguarding long-term financial well-being and extending their social security protection.
Around 2.08 billion new female subscribers joined the EPFO in February 2025. Compared with February 2024, it has an annual growth rate of 1.26%. In addition, the net female salary increased to 33.7 lakh during the month period to about 33.7 lakh, an increasing increase of 9.23% compared to the annual growth rate of FE in 20224. labor force.
