The National Bureau of Investigation (NIA) arrested Rajkumar Mypaksana, a 21-year-old Manipur man, in connection with the Manipur Riots case.
He was detained while working at a local hotel on Friday (May 16, 2025), and a few days ago he worked in a housekeeping job in Thalassery.

After several days of surveillance, Mr. Rajkumar was frenzy from the sea of Imphal. NIA officials have laid out health officials who have routine monsoon disease checkups, visited workers’ residences and asked for identity verification. Mr Rajkumar was arrested after his Aadhaar card and had a unique tattoo around his neck, which helped confirm his identity.
He was reportedly trained by the banned armed groups, and was linked to cases registered in Imphal related to ongoing racial conflicts in Manipur.
Sources said he did not provide resistance and calmly followed the officer after realizing that he had been arrested. The arrests came after a few months of investigation by the NIA, and the officer reportedly did not remind Kerala police before the operation. Officials also took back fake passports from Rajkumar, who allegedly tried to travel abroad through Tirur but failed.
According to the preliminary investigation, Mr Rajkuma arrived at Thalassery after responding to a job advertisement from hotel managers on social media. His familiarity with English and Hindi helped him to incorporate the recruitment of several young men in Manipur.
Sources said Mr Rajkuma arrived in Kerala last month, traveled across several areas, and then temporarily settled in a house in Manjodi, Thiruvnagad, Thalassery.
The arrests are part of a larger investigation into racial violence that shocks Manipur, while Nia continues to track individuals associated with extremist clothing. His arrest took place at 5 p.m. Friday.
