Officials tell officials to prepare for action plans for Rushikonda, Sagar Nagar Beach

Collector MN Harendhira Prasad has asked the relevant officials to prepare for the improvement of special action plans for Rushikonda and Sagar Nagar Beach.

Rushikonda Beach can be equipped with additional amenities and a tourist information centre. After inspecting Rushikonda’s “Blue Flag” beach, he said at a meeting with representatives of the Beach Management Council on Thursday that sign boards should be erected.

He said people who work at the Blue Flag Beach should be trained. He advised officials to revive the ocean watchtower in Rushikonda, build steps, provide lights, restrooms, clear encroachment, simplify water supply and complete work.

He suggested that Sagar Nagar beach should be developed on the lines of Rushikonda beach.

Mr Harendhira Prasad asked the officials concerned to ensure the beach was clean and more green plants were developed.

He suggested renaming the box in Rushikonda to the “Suggestions and Views”. The board of directors should be placed for the greywater treatment plant and a special register should be opened to record events occurring on the beach.

Tourism Jagadeesh, Regional Director of Regional Tourism Officer Sudhasagar, and officials from GVMC, Tourism, VMRDA, Pollution Control Commission, EPDCL, Fisheries, Income and Police Department attended the meeting.
