Army officials said Pakistani troops continued to resort to unprovoked shootings in Poonch and Kupwara areas in Jamu and Kashmir, violating the ceasefire at the Line of Control (LOC).

It was Pakistan’s fourth consecutive night of appeal to shooting along LOC and tensions rose between New Delhi and Islamabad after a terrorist attack in Pahalgam last week.

“On the evening of April 27-28, Pakistan Army outpost launched an unprovoked small arms fire in the LOC across the Kupwara and Poonch areas,” Army officials said.

They added: “The Indian troops responded quickly and effectively.”

No casualties were reported.

Pakistani troops opened fire on different control lines (LOCs) on Thursday (24 April 2025) along the line of control (LOCs) and the middle night from April 25 to 26 and April 26 to 27.
