Saif Ali Khan in Pataudi Palace

Pataudi Palace, also known as Ibrahim Kothi, was the ancestor of Saif Ali Khan and his family. The 10-acre property is estimated to be Rs 8 billion. The palace consists of 150 rooms, seven dressing rooms, seven bedrooms and seven billiards rooms. Interestingly, even though Pataudi Palace was Saif’s ancestors, he had to buy it from the hotel chain. Saif revealed in a midday interview in 2019 that Pataudi Palace is renting Neemrana Hotels.

How does Saif repurchase Pataudi Palace?

After the death of Saif’s father, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, the palace was rented to Neemrana Hotels. Until 2014, they operated Pataudi Palace as a luxury property.

In the interview, Saif revealed that people have certain fixed concepts. Although he comes from the royal family, there is no “a lot of legacy waiting for him.” He said: “Even (the palace), when my father passed away, it was rented to Neemrana Hotels. Aman Nath and Francis Wacziarg used to run the hotel.”

He further said that after Francis died. Aman told him that if he wanted the palace to come back, he could contact him. Saif recalls: “I’m going back. Then they had a meeting and said, ‘Okay, you have to give us a lot of money!’ So, I made it.” In order to win ownership of Pataudi Palace, Saif had to put the hard-earned money out of the movie, and he did it without thinking about it.

On the job side, Saif Ali Khan will soon begin in the movie Jewelry Thief: Robbery. The film is directed by Kookie Gulati and Robbie Grewal. The film also plays Jaideep Ahlawat and premieres on Netflix on April 25, 2025.
