Four arrested on Warangal Hi-Tech prostitution racket

Hyderabad: A city task force raided a house in Narsampet Thursday, arresting four people and rescuing two women in a racket police described as “high-tech” prostitution.

Holding are Koyyala Ramesh (35), Koyyala Nithin (19), Kesanapalli Vikram (36) and so-called organizers Ginnarapu Uma (30). Investigators said Uma attracted women from other fields with her promise of work and forced them to do sexual work.

Officials seized five cell phones, Rs 2,750 in cash, 1,000 condom bags, a motorcycle and 29 HIV diagnostic kits.

Task Force ACP A. Madhusudan said that if they were repeat offenders, organizers would prosecute under the Preventive Detention Act. The raid was led by Inspector K. Sridhar, ASI Rajeswari and a team of six.

Police said further investigations are being conducted to identify other accomplices and victims.
