Political conspiracy in the National Pioneer Case: Kanhaiya Kumar

Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar said on Monday (April 21, 2025) National pioneer The Enforcement Bureau (ED) filed a fee table as a “political conspiracy” with no evidence to prove money laundering without any financial transactions. Mr Kumar said the case was only registered against the Nehru-Gandhi family.

Mr Kumar said at a press conference here that the centre’s ruling Bharatiya Janata party is hosting the ED like a “ransomware department”. “In addition to undermining the constitutional institutions, the BJP government has abused central institutions to suppress the opposition and distract people,” he said.

Mr Kumar, head of the NSUI for the All-India Congress Committee, said the BJP has been lying National pioneer Since its inception, the case has been the only target of slandering the Nehru-Gandhi family. “Two prime ministers in this family sacrificed their lives… Britain also banned national pioneers in 1942. What else can the BJP do?” he asked.

Congress leader and former JNU student union president said the conviction rate of ED is less than 1%, and its money laundering case against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi is untenable. “There is no borrowing money, no financial transactions. Both companies mentioned in the case are nonprofits,” Kumar said.

Mr Kumar also questioned the BJP’s alleged abuse of property worth thousands of rupees in the case, while noting that all property except Lucknow is being leased. He said this is not even the personal property of the state pioneer.

“In contrast, no one talks about the financial situation of the BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. RSS is not even a registered organization. Where do they get the money to build plush offices in every city?” Mr Kumar said.

Govind Singh Dotasra, chairman of the Rajasthan Congress Committee, accompanied Kumar to the press conference, said the executive meeting in Jaipur on April 24 will allocate responsibility to the party’s office competitors to launch a campaign to save the constitution. A state-level rally will be followed here on April 28.
