The funeral of Pope Francis will be held on Saturday (April 26) at the Roman Catholic Cardinal on Saturday at St. Peter’s Square and decided on Tuesday to lay the foundation for a solemn ceremony that will attract leaders from all over the world. Francis, 88, died Monday after a stroke and cardiac arrest, ending a often turbulent domination, repeatedly clashing with traditionalists and advocating for the poor and marginalization. His body will be brought to the adjacent St. Peter’s Basilica at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday (0700 GMT), led by the Cardinal. He will lie there until Friday at 7:00 pm, his funeral will be held at 10:00 am the next morning in St. Peter’s Square in front of the 16th-century cathedral. It will be chaired by Cardinal Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, the 91-year-old dean of the Cardinal College.
