Prior to IPL 2025, Lucknow Super Giants team, owner Sanjiv Goenka meets CM Yogi Adityanath
During the meeting, the LSG team appreciated the efforts made in the development of sports culture in Uttar Pradesh.
A few days before IPL 2025 began, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) team, along with team owners Sanjiv Goenka and Captain Rishabh Pant, made a courteous appeal to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. During this period, the Chief Minister congratulated the players, coaching staff and senior officials, related to the management of the team to perform well in the upcoming IPL season. LSG will play its first match against Delhi Capitals’ IPL 2025 season at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on March 24.
CM Yogi said Lucknow Super Giants has performed well over the past few years, and this team is a wonderful example of talent, discipline and sportsmanship. He hopes that all players this season will do their best to win the athletic skills of the IPL trophy.
Speaking to the team, the Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh has begun a new era in the field of sports today. The government has taken many important steps to promote the state’s sports culture, so young people in the state have a mark on the national and international level of the sport field. He told players that they struggle, discipline and sportiness and became inspiration for young people.

During the meeting, the LSG team appreciated the efforts made in the development of sports and culture in Uttar Pradesh and said that this is the result of continuous efforts and today a large number of players from Uttar Pradesh have performed well in various national and international sporting events. LSG entered the playoffs of IPL 2022 and 2023 seasons, and then quit twice. In IPL 2024, LSG ranks seventh in the points table.
