Rs 11,576.2 crore paid according to the Gruha Lakshmi plan in Mandya district

From January 2024 to January 2025, a total of Rs 1,157.62 crore was paid under the Gruha Lakshmi scheme in Mandia District, benefiting from 4,48,769 qualified women.
Chikkalingaiah, chairman of the Regional Guarantee Scheme Implementation Authority, shared the update while presiding on Friday’s review meeting at Zilla Panchayat in Mandia.
He said measures have been taken to make pending amounts for February and March through Direct Benefit Transfers (DBT). So far, 99.61% of eligible women in the region have received benefits from the program. The data has confirmed that 1,374 beneficiaries are not income tax or GST payers and that the information has been formally submitted.
According to the Anna Bhagya program, 4,47,166 beneficiaries have received benefits. In December 2024 alone, Rs 23.35 billion was released. He said that since the inception of the scheme, a total of Rs 40.206 crore has been attributed to the beneficiary’s accounts.
Up to 5,22,674 households in the area have been registered under the Gruha Jyothi program. Between August 2023 and April 2025, Rs 4052 crore of electricity had been consumed and the government has released Rs 34.755 crore of consumption. According to authorities, the program’s registration rate is 97.11%.
In April alone, 6.408 million female passengers benefited from the Shakti scheme, which received ticket revenue of Rs 2.093 crore. He told the region currently operates 495 buses and the government plans to purchase another 2,000 buses to enhance the public transport system and minimize inconvenience for commuters.
According to Yuva Nidhi’s plan, 4,702 unemployed youth received financial assistance, totaling Rs 711 crore.
The Chairman also directed the officers to remove the names of the deceased from the ration card and noted that some were still listed as active beneficiaries.
