Salman Khan is awaiting the release of his next film, Sikandar, which will be released on March 30 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. The action thriller is directed by Ar Murugadoss and also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj and Kajal Aggarwal.

Salman Khan was born on December 27, 1965 in Salim Khan and Salma Khan, who were born on December 27, 1965 in Sushila Charak. On Wednesday, the superstar recounted the story behind his parents’ stories at a press conference ahead of the upcoming Sikandar, which was released on Sunday, March 30 at the Eid-ul-Fitr.

Salman shared that besides religion, his father and legendary screenwriter Salim Khan’s career is a debate in his marriage. The Sudanese actor revealed that the marriage differences with his mother have never exceeded the differences in Hindu and Muslim cultures in both families.

Speaking to the media in Mumbai, Salman shared, “It was never about the difference in the Hindu and Muslim culture and the practices, the bigger and more concerning thing at that time was, ‘Ye toh film line se hain’,” as he spoke of his father’s profession, the same Salim Khan whose pen along with his partner Javed Akhtar gave blockbusters after blockbusters in the 1970s.

Meanwhile, speaking of Sikandar, the action thriller is directed by popular Tamil filmmaker Ar Murugadoss. Murugadoss plays critical and commercially acclaimed Tamil films on Mahesh Babu’s Spyder (2017), Thalapathy Vijay’s Thuppakki (2012), and Rajinikanth’s Darbar (2020) and others (2020).

The director made his Bollywood debut with Ghajini. The Aamir Khan and Asin-Starrer Blockbuster films broke multiple records and established a 10 billion rupees club in 2008. He then made two more Hindi films in 2014 – on vacation with Akshay Kumar and on vacation with Sonakshi Sinha in 2016. Sikandar was with Sinakshi Sinha in 2016. Sikandar marks him back to the ninth grade of the Indian film industry.

In addition to Salman Khan, Sikandar also plays Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi and Prateik Smita Patil. The film will face a fierce competition on the box office of Mohanlal-Starrer and Prithviraj Sukumaran directed L2: Empuraan, which will be released on Thursday, March 27.
