A police and crime committee in London’s parliament said the Mets have been attracting attention for the occasion, with at least one million people gathering on the streets of West London every August bank holiday weekend.
Metropolitan Assistant Commissioner Matt Twist explained that crowd density is “probably the most interesting element.”

Two people were convicted. Additionally, eight non-fatal stab wounds were reported in the incident.
The committee urged London Mayor Sadiq Khan to conduct a review of population safety and density.

“Metropolitan Met tells us the possibility of mass leisure events that we cannot stand and wait for tragic events: action must be taken,” said Susan Hall, chairman of the committee.
Met Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley said: “Even if there is a risk of crime, we are more concerned about the risk of the crowd…we are trying to reduce the risk of the Hillsborough type. [disaster] But we are alleviating the unsatisfactory stuff. ”
Carnival organizers said they were pleased with the agreement to conduct independent reviews and that the first phase of the report has been delivered and is being reviewed by partners.
A spokesman for Sir Sadik said: “An independent review is underway.”

After the incident, 200 operators and 30 garbage trucks removed 330 tons of garbage – 30 tons more than last year – and left the streets looking good.

Anna Stark, 86, said she lived in Ladbroke Grove for 15 years and commented: “Personally, I really like Carnival.
“My family came here and we had a weekend – enjoying the music and atmosphere.
Sometimes I look through the windows, sometimes I go out and join.
“It’s great to see young people having fun. They are often happy to see an older person enjoying themselves.
The police are excellent – the cleanup is always effective. I know there are some stab wounds this year – always worrying. But I don’t feel unsafe.
