Ayesha Jhulka worked with superstars Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar in the 1990s. However, her career was ruined after the 1993 film Dalaal was shot and killed without her permission, the film Mithun Chakraborty as a hero.
Ayesha Jhulka was born on July 28, 1972 in Srinagar, Jamu and Kashmir. She made her debut as a child artist in the 1983 Hindi film King Case Diary. Her first film as a leading actress was the 1990 action movie Neti Siddhartha, in which she paired with Telugu superstar Nagarjuna. Ayesha’s debut as the Bollywood heroine was opposite the 1991 action drama “Kurbaan”. She became a national fan after the 1992 film Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar and Aamir Khan’s romantic song Pehla Nasha. In the same year, Ayesha also provided Akshay Kumar to Superhit Khiladi. However, her career was ruined in a shocking event in the 1993 film Dalaal, who took Mithun Chakraborty as a hero.
Ayesha Jhulka’s rape scene is caught in huge controversy after being shot dead in Dalaal with double permission. In a recent interview, the actress told Hindi, about the horrible incident, “I didn’t know the scene where they shot with body doubles. I wasn’t invited to the trial show for the movie. A reporter watched the movie at that screening and later called me and asked, ‘You know about this sequence in the movie because we were so surprised because how did you allow this?’’’ Everyone knows that it’s a double double in that scene.”
“I was shocked and frustrated. I called Prakash Mehra Ji (producer) and he told me that there was no such scene in the movie. At that time I believed him because there was no such scene in the trial I’ve seen. A few days later, I called me again and chatted with Mehra Ji in the past. So I went to that trial show, and I was angry myself and got cheated the next day.
After this controversy, Ayesha was mostly awarded a B-level movie, and she was mostly reduced to a supporting role in mainstream movies. She said she didn’t get the role she wanted to do and quit the show since the early 2000s. Ayesha has filmed very few movies over the past 20 years, and her last drama release was the 2018 film Genius. Jhulka made her debut on the 2022 web series hush hush and another Show Happy Family in Prime Video: Conditions apply on the same OTT platform in 2023. She recently saw her in this year’s culinary reality show Celebrity Masterchef, and ended up in No. 10.
