Ten years later, the road on the bridge is open to the public in Tiluruwana Malai

Public Works and Highways Minister Ev Velu unveiled the bridge on Thursday.

Overbridge (Rob) which replaced the manned railway junction (LC: 80) near Tiruvannamalai has been opened to the public more than a decade after construction work began.

The bridge with two lanes is 700 meters long and the entire bridge range is 12 meters. It also has a path with steel handrails. Stairs from the bridge to the train station can also be provided.

Highway officials said the work on the railroad laid on the railroad was done by the railway itself to ensure that train services were not disturbed. State roads work on the ramps of the bridge and approaching the roads.

Enough land has been obtained to carry out the service lane. Land acquisition has delayed completion of work and upgraded the total project cost from Rs 17.37 crore (2019) to Rs 30 crore (2025).

Residents say most schools, universities, bus booths, government offices and banks are located on the side of the railway level transition and residential colonies. Before opening the new bridge, people used a bypass to reach both sides of the town.
