This sharp price comparison shows how inflation and import dependence make electronics like air conditioners much more expensive in Pakistan.

Due to the rising inflation rate of Pakistan’s bankruptcy, daily necessities and electronic equipment are much higher than India. One such example is the cost of 1.5 tons of air conditioning, which is much more expensive than India.

according to TV9 The report, on the official website of TCL Pakistan, a PKR of 148,900 for 1.5 tons of AC (18HEA-2) is listed, with a total of approximately Rs 45,251. Similarly, on the Mega.pk website, the price of Haier 1.5 tons AC is PKR 149,999 (approximately Rs 45,585).

In addition to TCL and Haier, brands such as Kenwood and Greek also sell ACS in Pakistan. On the e-commerce platform Daraz, the price of Kenwood 1.5 tons AC is PKR 150,499 (approximately Rs 45,737). Meanwhile, the price of Gree 1.5-ton diverting AC on Mega.pk is as high as PKR 211,999 (approximately Rs 64,427).

In India, by comparison, 1.5 tons of AC is offered at a much lower price. On Flipkart, Marq (in-house brand) offers 1.5 tons of AC for just Rs 25,990. Other brands such as Onida and Cruise also sell similar models for Rs 28,490 and Rs 28,990, respectively, on Flipkart and Amazon.

Indian consumers also have a wide variety of brands to choose from, such as Voltas, Samsung, LG, Hitachi, Blue Star, Lloyd, Haier and Daikin. Although many premium models cost more than Rs 30,000, the budget-friendly option is still easy to get.

This sharp price comparison shows how inflation and import dependence make electronics like air conditioners much more expensive in Pakistan. On the other hand, Indian consumers benefit from greater competition in local manufacturing and markets.
