Thiruvananthapuram: Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko faces allegations of sexual misconduct from a Kochi hotel room during a raid conducted by the Regional Anti-Poison Special Operations Force (DANSAF) on Wednesday night.
Police raided based on tips from a drug vendor staying in the hotel. After checking the registration at the reception, they found that the 41-year-old actor had also checked in 94 movies. His presence in the hotel has raised suspicion, especially since he was involved in a narcotics case in 2015 and recently acquitted.
The police involved in the raid told the media that despite repeated knocks on the door, the door to the room was not opened. After a while, another person in the room opened the door, but Shine had already jumped out of the window. The whole room was searched and the people inside were polished. However, nothing illegal or offensive was found during the search.
Police describe Shine’s escape as a movie. He jumped from the third floor to the second floor in the sunlight and then jumped to the pool. Afterwards, he ran out of the hotel and escaped the two-wheeler.
Authorities suspect hotel staff may have informed Shine of the raid.
Meanwhile, police have launched a search operation in Kochi and Thrissur areas to find him, and his apartment in Kochi was also searched.
