Cricketers often have impressive careers even after retirement. They make money from various brand recognition, advertising, commercial investments, and more. Some even appear in movies, including Bollywood and other Indian cinemas. Now, an Australian cricketer David Warner, one such star cricketer, announced his retirement in 2024. The 38-year-old will make a cameo appearance in the upcoming Telugu movie Robinhood. The film is Nithiin’s headlines and is scheduled to be released globally on March 28. Produced by Mythri filmmakers, the film is directed by Venky Kudumula and is known for its “Chalo” and “Bheeshma”.

Mythri filmmakers shared the announcement on X on Saturday. “After leaving his mark on the ground, it’s time for him to shine on the screen. In an exciting hostess version of the world’s most popular @DavidWarner31 is introduced to Indian cinemas,” the title reads. Warner also posted about the same content on X and said he loves shooting movies. He wrote: “I’m here in Indian cinema. I’m glad to be part of #Robinood. I love shooting for that.”

Warner’s connection to Telugu movies is nothing new. Not only did he become a fan favorite for cricket exploitation, but he also loved Telugu songs and dance moves. During the COVID-19 lockdown, Warner’s reels and Tiktok videos, where he won the hearts of many fans on popular tracks such as “Srivalli” in “Pushpa” and “Srileru Neekevvaru”. Now, Warner’s entry into Tollywood excites his admirers. The former Sunrisers Hyderabad captain led the team to an IPL title in 2016. He failed to find any buyers in IPL 2025 Mega Auction as he was sold after a base price of Rs 2 crore.
