At a horrible moment, an electric car suddenly exploded in the driveway with flames as the vehicle triggered a violent fire scattered across vans and a family home.
Shocking images show a fireball tearing apart in a vehicle outside a £550,000 home in Chandler Ford Hampshire in the early hours of this morning.
The car parked in the driveway and caught fire overnight around 5 a.m.
Photos taken after the fire reveal the shocking extent of the damage, including the wreckage of three vehicles – one of which is a van. The front of the house was also severely burned.
All vehicles on the drive have been reduced to burnt remains except for the van – but it is not clear what type of vehicles they are.
The houses on the quiet road belong to a young family, the neighbor said.
Thankfully, the family was able to leave safely without any casualties.
One neighbor said: “I might be the last person to hear it on the block. When I got up, the fire was happening and the house started to catch up.

‘The flames came out of the doors and windows. I feel fear for my young family.

They said: “Firefighters attacked a fire this morning at a house on Charcot Avenue in Chandlerford.
The crew of Eastleigh, Redbridge and St Mary’s were alerted shortly before 5 a.m. when multiple 999 calls were reported in the control room when the fire was reported.
“Firefighters wearing respirators entered the property and used hoses and jets to put out the fire.
Fortunately, no casualties were found.
“Electricity, gas and water supply to the building were isolated before the incident was handed over to the Hampshire and White Police Departments.”
This is not the first time an electric car caught fire in the middle of the night.

In January, a Worcester mother told her how her vehicle exploded in the home’s driveway while she was asleep with her children.
She said: “I fell asleep, all the kids fell asleep, I just heard a loud noise.
“At first, I thought the TV had fallen, but when I was watching outside, I saw the reflection of the flames in the neighbor’s window.
‘I was shocked.
“I was traumatized and the children were traumatized. I caught three kids and the dog and rushed out of the house as soon as possible.
