The upcoming Noida International Airport (NIA) will be the fifth international airport in the state, cementing its position as a major aviation hub. In addition, NIA will become the largest airport in India, providing state-of-the-art facilities and significantly promoting regional connectivity.

Before 2012, there were only two international airports in Uttar Pradesh, the chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow and the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi. When Kushinagar’s third international airport began operations, the state’s aviation landscape underwent a major shift. Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened on October 20, 2021.

Since then, Ayodya International Airport has opened in 2023.

Noida International Airport is expected to be a landmark project, the second major airport in the Delhi NCR region, along with Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI). Located about 72 km from IGI, the airport will greatly reduce traffic congestion at the Delhi Junior Airport while meeting the growing passenger and cargo needs.

The terminal has an area of ​​100,000 square meters and has 28 aircraft racks. In addition, a 40-acre maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) center is under construction.
