That’s how streaming giant video reacted to the allegations that Shekhar Kapur edited his film Bandit Queen without his consent.

On Monday, streaming platform Prime Video clarified filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, who recently claimed his film Bandit Queen was cut in Prime video without his consent. The OTT giant said film publisher NH Studioz offers a version of Bandit Queen Streaming from Prime video.

In a statement, a Prime Video spokesperson denied any edits to the film. “Prime Video has not yet made any edits to the version of the movie Bandit Queen currently streaming on the service,” the statement said.

Last week, in praising the Netflix miniseries Adolescence, Shekhar Kapur wrote on his X account: “I wonder if Ott Platforms will let me make Bandit Queen Bandit Queen the way I was a few years ago. Bandit Queen on Amazon Prime is not recognizable in my movies.

The director, also known for films like Masoom and Mr. India, asked if Ott Platforms would do the same thing in Hollywood’s Big Christopher Nolan’s films. He further added: “But it is directed by my name. No one asked me! We are fewer people than Western directors? Do they have the courage to cut Chris Nolan without his permission?”

The well-received robber queen revolves around the life of terrible chambal dacoit transformed into the life of Parliament member Phoolan Devi. Seema Biswas plays a titular role in the film, which caused a global sensation after its two-week partial premiere at the 1994 Cannes Film Festival.

Director Shekhar Kapur also won three national best feature-length films in Hindi, best actress for Seema Biswas and best costume design for Dolly Ahluwalia. The film also starred in Nirmal Pandey, Aditya Srivastava, Gajraj Rao, Manoj Bajpayee, Raghubir Yadav, Saurabh Shukla and Rajesh Vivek among others.
