“I am very humble and grateful because I have the opportunity to make a movie I made”

For Nushratt Bharuccha, returning to the character Sakshi of Chhorii 2 is an emotional experience. It wasn’t easy to portray the tensions that protected her daughter on screen, but it was a transformative experience that affected her in real life. She is here, talking about her career so far, and the movies premiered on Amazon Prime with a good response:

What is the whole content of Chhorii 2?

Chhorii’s sequel is so organic and rooted in it. Part one talks about female murder, in Part two I saved the girl from sacrificing and protecting her, hoping that her life and my life will be great, but another social evil will attract us.

Tell us more about it?

This is the progress from Chhorii 1 to Chhorii 2. When my child was six to seven years old, she was threatened by the evil customs of child marriage. I just talk about it and feel the chicken skin ump because that’s when we live.
We talked about this topic through horror. This is a very cool and very influential storytelling tool that can bring this concept home. There is no better way to focus on this topic so that you cringe and wonder “What happened? How did this happen?

Even in today’s era, what do you think of atrocities against women?

You know, this is another discussion. But this is not over yet. Something keeps happening in our society, not only women in any country, but in our society. Globally, atrocities against women are higher. The crimes against women are higher. To me, the whole concept of Chhorii is bigger than this movie. I’m glad people are watching and enjoying this movie.

After Chhorii 2, how do you think of your career?

I don’t evaluate the past. I think I haven’t reached that stage yet and I think I should reflect on my work or think about what happened. You are so busy getting the job done that you are not thinking about the past and the future, and you are just trying your best. You just take a step forward. I think that’s where I live.
But I can tell you that I feel very lucky, humble and grateful for the films I have chosen. This also makes me a person and an actor.

You’ve made commercial movies like Sonu Ki Tittu and Dream Girl, now it’s Chhorii. Which type do you like?

I like all types. Unless I like scripts and characters, I will never choose a type. Mujhe Karne Ko Maza Aata Hai. I really like my Sonu ki tittu ki sweetie dancing on his heels. I like to make chhori. I am also a ki ladki type in real life. So maybe that’s why I made these different types of movies.
Do you have a choice?
If I’m not good to me, then I can let go even if it’s a big craft or setup.

Do you have any movies that you like to make?
I signed up for a movie and shot it, and it did a great job, but working on this set was very difficult because I couldn’t gaze at their professionalism and things were not my taste.
I didn’t have any creative satisfaction there. I don’t like it. I tried to do my best while trying to finish this movie because I was committed to it and I couldn’t quit the promise.
But I learned a lesson. I can now say, “Guys, if I don’t plan to play, I don’t want to do that. My happiness, my passion is very important to me. If you are going to make me sad, otherwise I will feel sad, then it doesn’t make sense to you or me. It’s better to throw someone else.
