TTD Board Members filed a complaint against former chairman about cattle death charges

Tirupati, April 15: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams committee member G Bhanu Prakash Reddy filed a complaint against former chairman B Karunakar Reddy to the police chief for allegedly “defamation” and “destroying the status of the temple” and alleged that he had committed accusations against livestock. However, Karunakar Reddy demanded a thorough investigation into the death of a cattle and asserted that he would stick to his statement as if he was “nothing wrong”. On April 11, Karunakar Reddy held a press conference here and claimed that the mass death of cows in TTD Goshala (Cowshea) suggests that 100 cattle have died in the past three months due to “negligence”. “The unfounded allegations based on fictional reasons are equivalent to defamation, and they have lowered the temple and its government in the eyes of the public,” Bhanu Prakash Reddy said in a complaint shared with PTI on Tuesday. The complaint refuted Karunakar Reddy’s claim. He further noted that the allegations had entered newspapers and social media, thus “harming the feelings of devotees and cheering up their faith.” In view of this, Bhanu Prakash Reddy asked the SP to take appropriate action against the former TTD chair and others involved in making such claims. Meanwhile, on Monday, Karunakar Reddy reiterated his demand for a thorough investigation into the death of a cattle and insisted that he sticks to his own remarks. “I won’t be worried about any threats because I did nothing wrong,” he said. “TTD Executive Officer (EO) Shyamala Rao said 43 cows died, while Chairman Br Naidu claimed that the number was 22. The two numbers contradicted the assertions of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who did not die in Goshala,” Karunakar Reddy said in a YSRCP press release. Karunakar Reddy accused the Chief Minister, EO and the Chairman of providing conflicting figures, saying they failed to resolve the issue with transparency and questioned their accountability. He also criticized the TTD government for “seeing death as age-related death”, noting that the photos he posted were young cows and calfs, proving his claim. Additionally, he accused TTD chairman Br Naidu of threatening to file criminal cases against him across the state and announced that he was ready to face legal action (even imprisonment) in defending the views of devotees. He urged the TTD to stop the issue of “politicization” and instead address the alleged mismanagement in Goshala.
