Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said the “biggest risk” to the U.S. economy is US President Donald Trump. This is after the United States imposed reciprocity tariffs on several countries, which affected global trade. The United States and Canada have been in the Loggerhead state on certain issues, including tariffs, smuggling of fentanyl drugs and Trump’s demand to make Canada the 51st state in the United States.
Carney said during the debate that the biggest risk to Canada’s affordability and economy is Trump. “The biggest risk we can bear, the biggest risk we have to this economy is Donald Trump,” he said.

According to media reports, the debate was held between the Liberal Party of Carney in Canada, Jagmet Singer of the New Democratic Party, the Conservative Party of Pierre Poilievre in Canada and Yves-Francois Blanchet of Quebec, Quebec.
In an article on social media platform X, the Canadian Prime Minister said he plans to fight Trump’s tariffs. “Fight against President Trump’s tariffs. Protect workers. Build a stronger economy. This is my plan,” he wrote.
During the debate, the Prime Minister also spoke about plans to build an economy, diversify its trading partners with “like-minded” countries and have an advantage over Canada’s response to the U.S. “unreasonable tariffs” to the U.S.
