In the video, Vince shares her experience and says she will no longer work with people who abuse substances like alcohol or drugs. The actress posted her stance in an earlier anti-drug campaign, getting mixed reactions online.
Malayalam film actress Vince Aloshious filed a formal complaint against Devara: Part 1 actor Tom Chacko accused him of performing poorly in the allegedly under the influence of the alcohol-influenced film Suthravakyam. The complaint was filed with the Kerala Film Chamber and the Internal Complaints Committee of the Malayalam Film Industry.
Vince, known for her roles in films like Rekha, Vikruthi and Jana Gana Mana, reveals her discomfort in Instagram videos, and he shares the actor’s behavior, especially in Suthravakyam’s performance, is inappropriate and unprofessional.
In the video, Vince shares her experience and says she will no longer work with people who abuse substances like alcohol or drugs. The actress posted her stance in an earlier anti-drug campaign, getting mixed reactions online.
She explained in the video that her decision to avoid working with drug addicts stems from an unpleasant experience with co-actors. Although she did not initially name the actor, she later filed a complaint with the support of Amma’s office head (the Association of Malayalam Film Artists).
Vince said in the video: “A few days ago, during an anti-drug campaign, I issued a statement saying I would not use drugs with people I know. Since then, several comments have questioned my statement and I feel it is necessary to clarify why I did it.
Vince went on to describe specific events, which made her feel uncomfortable during the filming process. She claims the main artist in the film did poorly with her and a colleague under the influence of drugs.
One of the incidents involved the actor accompanying her with her to resolve a wardrobe failure in front of the entire crew, she said. Vince found the offer to be inappropriate and difficult to accept. She further shared a disturbing incident in which the actor was seen using white powder (she suspected to be a drug) during a live rehearsal.
“He’s spitting some kind of white powder on the table, and it’s obvious that he’s using drugs,” Vince said.
She also mentioned that the production team knew about this and that although the director had solved the problem, they did the shoot because the actors were at the heart of the film’s success. The Kerala Film Chamber is an important agency in the state’s film industry and will now review the complaints filed by Vince.
