West Bengal is set for weekend showers, while Heatwaves will continue in Rajasthan, Maharashtra

With West Bengal’s New Year ring in Bangladesh, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted rainwater and thunderstorm spells in several areas this weekend, ringing rainwater and relief.

In Kolkata, the IMD shows the possibility of thunderstorms in the city on Friday night or at night.

Areas such as Medinipur, Jagram, Paschim Balhanman, Proulia and Bilboom may experience rainfall as uneasy weather is expected to continue through Friday to Sunday.
The IMD also warned that the gust of winds reached 30 to 40 kmph in parts of southern Bangladesh.

Other countries need to breathe

Elsewhere in the country, rain and thunderstorms are expected to affect several areas in the next few days.
Jamu and Kashmir, Himaal, Ganges West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaraland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are all likely to witness heavy rain and storm activities on Friday.
Strong winds, lightning and hail are expected to affect parts of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand and Northeastern states. Andaman and Nicobar Islands may see consistent rainfall this weekend, especially in the Nicobar area on Friday, with moderate to severe shower forecasts.
Looking ahead to Saturday, IMD predicts continued thunderstorms with gusts of wind, gusts of wind, possible hail in parts of Uttarakhand, West Bengal and Sikkim, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rerasemma and Karnataka.

The scattered thunderstorms will also continue to other central and eastern states, including Odisha, Bihar and Jharkhand.

Heatwave condition grip Rajasthan and central India

Although several parts of the country prepare for showers, Rajasthan is currently experiencing isolated heatwave conditions.

Meanwhile, hot and humid weather in Central Maharashtra and Malatwada is expected to continue, which increases discomfort in central India.

The IMD has recommended residents in these areas to take necessary precautions and keep moisture as the temperature remains high.

As weather conditions remain volatile across the country, IMD continues to closely monitor developments. Citizens are advised to follow formal renewal and act with caution, especially in areas affected by thunderstorms and strong winds.
