Salman Iqbal, boss of Karachi kings, drop bombshell statement

Babar Azam recently withdrawn from Pakistan’s T20i and is now playing for Zalmi Peshawar in PSL 2025. He wasn’t doing well, scoring 0 and 1 in his first two games, which was Zalmi’s low position on the points table.

Pakistan’s star Babar Azam has been under a lot of scrutiny lately because of his disappointing performance in all formats. He faces significant criticism for his performance in his recent ICC Championship trophy 2025. He seemed far from his usual self in the game, running 90 in 64-balls against New Zealand in a slow 321 goals, then scored 23 in 6 hits in Pakistan and 23 out of 23.

After Pakistan’s early withdrawal from the championship trophy, many fans, analysts and former players have called on Babar to withdraw from the national team.

In fact, he was excluded from Pakistan’s T20I roster last month. Currently he is struggling in the 2025 season of the Pakistan Premier League (PSL), with scored 0 and 1 in his first two matches, while Peshawar Zalmi is at the bottom of the score.

Despite these challenges, Salman Iqbal, the owner of the PSL series Karachi Kings, supports Babar Azam, who confidently predicts that he will make a strong comeback soon.

Speaking on the Ary Podcast, Iqbal said: “I tell you. Mark my words, when Babar Azam makes a comeback again, he will be a bigger player than any other player in the world, including Virat Kohli.

“He has elements of that class. When someone is in class. … The class is permanent, you can’t change that way. The style is always permanent. He will come back… He will come back and explode. We hope he hit third, but he is not ready to change his role. Management decided to do a full overhaul of the team. That’s why we made Babar, Imad Waym, Mohammad Amir Amir Go goo,” IQBAL, “I’m another lifetime.”

Salman Iqbal shared some insights on why Babar Azam decided to leave the Karachi Kings, the team he played for from 2017 to 2022, where he played a key role in his 2020 victory.

“When we [Karachi Kings] Our roster is very dependent on the opening game and we asked Babar Azam to be third. But he was eager to build there as an opener game and was reluctant to hit a blow. At that time, the management decided to carry out a comprehensive overhaul. ” he said.
