Yellow fever vaccination launched at AIIMS Bibinagar

Hyderabad: AIIMS BIBINAGAR has launched a yellow fever vaccination service under its community and family medicine department, becoming Telangana’s second authorized center, providing this important facility. Many countries require travelers to provide proof of yellow fever vaccination.

Yellow fever is a common mosquito-borne virus disease in parts of Africa and South America. Although it is incurable, a single dose of the vaccine provides lifelong immunity.

At AIIMS BIBINAGAR, the vaccine will be conducted between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. by prior appointment. Travelers can book slots by emailing yfvcaiimsbibinagar@gmail.com.

On the opening day, individuals from Karnataka and Telangana took advantage of the facility, demonstrating its potential usefulness for travelers in neighboring states.

Travelers must carry their passports when vaccinated because they will receive an international vaccination certificate, often referred to as a yellow card, which is mandatory for visiting countries affected by yellow fever. The vaccine is priced at 300.

Vaccines may not be suitable for all vaccines. Advance consultation centers are recommended for eggs, pregnant women, HIV/AIDS patients or those receiving cancer treatment or immunosuppressive therapy. In this case, a medical exemption certificate may be issued after the evaluation.

Professor Vikas Bhatia, executive director of AIIMS BIBINAGAR, pointed out that the release will help ensure safer international travel for citizens. Medical Director Dr. Abhishek Arora added that the service will strictly abide by all governments and who are dealings to ensure a smooth and safe experience for the recipient.
